I have a horse that can push a lot on the hand and has a hard time yielding. It had already been established by a bit fitter that the horse pulled up the tongue when the bit was put under pressure. Precisely because this bit alternates between double broken and rod action, I notice that there is more movement in the mouth. On previous bits, my horse really started biting on the bit, causing grooves in the iron. With this bit the horse gives more easily. He also no longer has the corners of the mouth broken, because the bit does not become narrower when pressure is applied due to the shearing of the parts. My horse will probably never have a very easy mouth, but of all the bits I've tried so far, this one really likes this one the best! Also the price is still manageable compared to some other bits.
