He is a bit stiff in the beginning, so a lot of smearing and using. It is generally a fine bridle, in terms of fit and easy to use. The reason I only used it twice (and still have it hanging in the cupboard) is that it does not have a good release. Like all other bitless bridles of leather, I found this really very mediocre! Both round and flat straps .. The rope bridle what I bought later gave the best release.
