When sweating heavily, a horse loses electrolytes (salts such as chloride, sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium) and trace elements (e.g. zinc) in addition to moisture. A horse’s sweat contains more electrolytes per litre of fluid than blood or any other body fluids. A horse loses its appetite to drink when the electrolyte concentration in the body is low, possibly resulting in dehydration, despite the availability of fresh drinking water.

Note
To be administered in the period of 1 to 3 days after heavy sweating. Maximum of 100 grams per day. Water should be availabe at all times. Supervise sufficient water intake after administration. It is recommended that advice from a veterinarian be sought before use, before extending the period of use or incase of insufficient water intake.
