Not only will a horse lose moisture during severe sweating, there is also a loss of electrolytes (salt). The horse's sweat contains more electrolytes (such as potassium, chlorine, sodium and calcium) per litre of fluid, than blood and other body fluids.
Once the concentration of electrolytes is low, a horse loses its appetite to drink, which may result in dehydration, despite the availability of fresh drinking water.

Feed instruction
During event / concours / stressful situation / warm weather:
Horse / pony: 30 – 40 g per dag. In 2 portions: before the exercise and during or after exercise.
Traveling or during transport:
Horse / pony: 60 – 90 g per dag. In 2 or 3 portions during the day.
Note
To be administered in the period of 1 to 3 days after heavy sweating. Maximum of 100 grams per day. Water should be available at all times. Supervise sufficient water intake after administration. It is recommended that advice from a veterinarian be sought before use, before extending the period of use or in case of insufficient water intake.
