Functions perfectly! Gently brush the hair on the horse's leg (or where the hornets have laid the eggs) and the eggs will come off immediately. You don't have to put pressure. The most effective gadfly remedy I've ever come across. In the time of the hornets I regularly visit all horses with this hornet egg knife and it is gone in no time. Ideal! It's sturdy and looks like it will last for years to come.

Get the job done, simple and efficient. The blade is not foldable which is its only weak point. I would also have liked it to be a little smaller, but maybe it would make it less easy to use.
