Our box isn't the biggest and the traditional salt lick holders with a stick in the middle are very big and protrude quite a bit into the box, taking up a lot of space. This holder is nice and narrow, can be quickly mounted with two screws and securely holds a suitable salt lick. The workmanship is robust and my ponies accept it well.
