My horse lifts everything up and takes everything with him, including his large hay bin. Now that I've smeared the stuff on the rim, let it stand. The stuff is only very stiff so you have to heat it up with warm or boiling water to lubricate it well. And you cannot smear it on wet surfaces.

This is highly recommended! It works very well and stays put. I use a thick and sturdy paintbrush myself for lubrication. That makes smearing very easy plus no dirty fingers.
