I use this clip to hold the back part of the mane when I braid the front part. It's not the most practical. I also use it to hold the top of the tail when I put the fake tail on. For this use it is perfect.

So far I have used an old iron comb, but this tool is indispensable, especially with thick mane. Perfect braids.
