My horse does not sweat with this blanket but feels pleasantly warm. I use the rug as a stable rug and padock rug when it's not raining. When it's around 0 degrees, a rain blanket comes over it. With this combo I get by from about - 3 to 14 degrees. Horse is clipped and stands in the box at night. No chafing.

It fits perfectly and the interior is extremely pleasant to the touch. I use it to run along my horse who loves to express his joy or his dissatisfaction and she does not move, I also put my surfaix on top and it absolutely does not slip.
