Our pony has a very thick mane. He was having a hard time with the heat. The moons are thinned out with this. First the side with the wider openings in the comb, then you can use the narrower side: There are some hairs in the comb with hair follicle, but in general most hairs are cut when you comb. Didn't have the idea that the pony experienced this 'comb' differently than a regular brushing.

This trimmer is easy to use. Thinning out the mane with this trimmer is really easy and horse friendly to my horse's response

Super handy for my horse with a light curl and especially a lot of thick mane! you go through it once with the coarse side and once with the fine side and the mane looks great. Just trim for a nice bottom. Easy to use, painless for the horse.

works well. Requires some practice. Mulling the mane in the classic way remains nicer, but this is useful for updating.
